Submission Guidelines

Proposals sent to Rice University Press should be in English and submitted electronically to rup@rice.edu. Proposals should include a brief description of the book, and discuss how the book fits within the existing literature and how it contributes to the body of knowledge in its subject. It is important also to define the book’s audience, and include information on your background, qualifications, and prior publications. Feel free to attach your c.v. to the proposal. Finally, the proposal should include information on the size of the book, what illustrations and other non-textual or multimedia elements it might include, a table of contents, and—if available—a sample chapter. We would also like to hear why you think your book is particularly suitable for the Rice University Press digital platform.

Receipt of proposals will be promptly acknowledged.
